During the Osaka-Kansai Expo 2025, Kawasaki revealed a conceptual project that combines technological innovation and futuristic imagination: the Corleo, a horse-like robot designed for personal mobility on challenging terrain. With a design reminiscent of a motorcycle, the Corleo breaks with the logic of wheels by incorporating four articulated mechanical legs, offering a unique way of getting around — and a glimpse of what individual transportation could be like in complex scenarios or off the asphalt.
Assembled like an animal and with a look that refers to the universe of Kawasaki motorcycles, the Corleo combines bold aesthetics and precision engineering. Its goal goes beyond functionality: the proposal is to expand the frontiers of locomotion in environments where traditional vehicles face limitations, such as uneven trails, unstable ground or difficult-to-access regions. The concept combines elements of robotics and biomechanics, raising the standard of off-road mobility.
Hydrogen as a driving force: a sustainable bet on the future of personal transport
Powered by a 150cc hydrogen engine, the Corleo also symbolizes Kawasaki's commitment to clean energy solutions aligned with global decarbonization goals. The use of hydrogen as a propulsion source positions the robot-horse as a showcase for the convergence between mobility and sustainability — a field in which the automotive and technology industries have been investing with increasing intensity.
The Corleo is not yet intended for large-scale production, but it functions as an advanced laboratory for ideas and as a demonstration of the brand's technical capabilities. In a global scenario that seeks alternatives to fossil fuels, the project reinforces the role of hydrogen as a promising energy vector — even in proposals that, at first glance, seem to come straight out of science fiction.
