The year 2024 stood out as a milestone for the advancement of renewable energies , with the implementation of new global records, consolidating its role in the energy transition. Recent data highlight the potential of biomass as one of the promising sources for diversifying the energy matrix, especially in Brazil.
The qualitative research conducted with 32 environmentalists revealed that, in addition to contributing to sustainability and job creation in rural areas, biomass can be integrated as a viable alternative in the global energy scenario. However, the analysis pointed out that implementation faces challenges, such as inadequate infrastructure, the need for advanced technologies and sustainable land use issues, requiring greater political support and government incentives.
This study concludes that biomass can be a key piece in the energy transition , promoting a greener and more inclusive future, but its success will depend on the strategic coordination of all actors involved.
