Breakfast in Rio: event highlights advances in low-carbon energy

The Brazilian renewable energy sector gains yet another important space for debate and networking with the Breakfast in Rio event, promoted by Acelen and Eletrobras. With an investment of US$3 billion , the plant is part of the Federal Government's Growth Acceleration Program (PAC) and promises to generate US$16 billion in economic activity , in addition to reducing CO₂ emissions by up to 80% by replacing fossil fuels with more sustainable sources.
Eletrobras, in turn, will highlight its collaboration with SEFE, from Germany, and EnerTech, from Kuwait, in the production of up to 200,000 tons of renewable hydrogen annually . The project will use energy from Eletrobras' hydroelectric plants, reinforcing Brazil's role as a protagonist in the hydrogen economy on the global stage.

The event will be opened by Helena Crowther , Deputy Director of DBT Brazil and Vice-Consul General in Rio de Janeiro. Confirmed speakers include Carlos Arentz , Senior Consultant at Acelen, and Henrique Agosto Verdan , Executive Manager of New Technologies at Eletrobras, both of whom will bring insights into the future of the sector and the outlook for the low-carbon market.
